The last of the core books of TFtL to review. There is a “companion” book (which I may pick up at some point) called Things From the Flood. This is compatible with Out of Time, if you want to add more of a horror flavor to the experience.
Chapter One gives an overview of the book in general, with chapter two detailing the trio of adventures that make up the story for Out of Time and the other mysteries, as well as basic info needed for the history of events.
Chapter three is part one and is titled The Animal Ark. Pets are disappearing for no apparent reason. They meet a seemingly mad scientist, but (of course) there’s more going on than meets the eye.
Chapter four is part two: Summer Camp. The PC’s go to summer camp in 1989 and wake up in 1969. It becomes the mission to add more pieces to the puzzle and also get back to their own time with help from a new friend.
Chapter five is the last part of the mystery: The Storm in the Hourglass. Everything starts coming together and to a head. Whether they succeed, fail, or something in between determines potentially major events.
Chapter six has several shorter adventure ideas that can be played alone or added into existing mysteries.
Chapter seven gives more general ideas for Tales From the Loop and Things From the Flood and setting up mysteries with chart after chart of information to set everything up.
Lastly, we get the Mix-CD of Mysteries. Eight more mysteries at least loosely based on songs from the early 90’s.
Overall, another good addition to the game. At its minimum, it gives you pre-gen NPC’s you can throw in your original stories, or use the mysteries as is, adding or removing information as needed.
