Well, I am no longer disabled. The Social Security Administration sent me a note indicating I am now retired. Nothing else changed. Hey I don’t have to explain myself every three years, I have old.
You know it feels kind of weird. A very light monkey off my back, a destination of sorts. “I’m retired” requires no explanation as to why.
Hopefully you are enjoying your status.
My brief unemployment recently has made me look forward to retiring. But with two kids not yet in college, I will have to wait.
I’m still in the disability determination process. Bleh.

I’ve been on the disabled list since '92. This is rather like the cheap boss that promotes you from assistant shit-kicker to senior assistant shit-kicker. The pay is no better.
My wife has been disabled since 2020, but next year she will retire, at the same rate, so I know where you are coming from.
